The grand celebration we had meticulously planned was no longer possible. Suddenly, we faced the reality that only a handful of people—10 to be exact—would be allowed to witness this union in person. It was a heartbreaking decision for them, knowing the loved ones who had traveled and planned to celebrate their love couldn’t attend. On that beautiful, albeit scaled-down, day in March, I had the honor of being one of the very few in the intimate gathering that filled the church with love and reverence.
