As the appointed day-of planner, our journey began a month prior, where we immersed ourselves in Brittany's vision, gathering every detail and connecting with vendors to orchestrate a symphony of love and celebration.
Sometimes, it’s the simplest touches that turn out to be the most memorable. For bride Brittany, a wedding planner herself, knowing when to ask for help was key. She reached out to aneW for some day-of expertise to make sure her plans came together seamlessly.
As a day-of planner, we typically come in about a month before the wedding, diving into all the details Brittany had already perfected. We collected vendor information, built connections, and set up timelines — aligning every detail to make sure Brittany could enjoy her day without a second thought.
This wedding also marked our first experience with the gorgeous McAllister-Leftwich House. From the moment we stepped in, the venue staff made everything effortless, welcoming us warmly and creating the perfect environment to kick off the celebration. A Wedding of Simple Elegance and Heartfelt Details
Simple yet sublime, Brittany's vision of familial warmth radiated throughout the venue. From cherished photographs adorning the walls, capturing the spirits of loved ones watching from above, to the intimate ambiance reminiscent of a cherished family dinner, every element spoke of love, legacy, and connection. It was a testament to Brittany's heart, and we were honored to #makeitaneW.
This wedding was nothing short of simple elegance, just as the bride envisioned. She wanted her guests to feel like they were stepping into a cozy family dinner, filled with warmth and familiarity. As guests walked through the house, they were greeted by memorial photos honoring the loved ones of both the bride and groom, those who were celebrating from Heaven. It was a deeply personal touch she wanted to include, and we were honored to #makeitaneW.
After the florist left, we realized a few extra touches could make the spaces feel even more special. We made a quick run back to gather some items from home to add just the right pop. Then, as a final flourish, I asked my staff to gather pinecones from outside. They gave me a puzzled look, but I reminded them — it’s all in the details! Those simple additions created an atmosphere of love, memory, and understated beauty that truly made the day unforgettable..
A Sweet Task and a Beautiful Serenade
In the dance between elegance and simplicity, every detail mattered. With a dash of creativity and a sprinkle of ingenuity, we transformed spaces into dreamscape havens. A last-minute dash to gather pinecones might have raised eyebrows, but to us, it was the final stroke of perfection, a reminder that beauty lies in the minutiae.
Then came the moment to set up the dessert table. The bride, in her thoughtful way, had the groom handle dessert pickup to keep him involved in the day’s preparations. Typically, the baker would add flowers to the cake upon delivery, but without a baker on-site, guess who found herself decorating the cake...that’s right, me! I have to say, I think I did a pretty great job! What do you think?
And speaking of beautiful moments, I may have accidentally botched the recording, but the groom’s sisters performed Ave Maria — it was breathtaking, one of the most moving renditions I’ve ever heard. Bravo to them for such a stunning tribute!
